Beef is in our blood

Since 1940, our family has been pursuing the perfect beef.

Brown’s Livestock

The first generation to operate this ranch, started in the 1940’s when Gilbert Gordon Brown purchased the land with the vision of producing the most beautiful beef in all of California. For the first four decades the family ran one of the largest feedlots in California, Brown’s Livestock, peaking out at nearly 10,000 head of cattle.

Gordon Brown

In the 1970’s, as the budding wine industry was being established in the county, the feedlot was retired. Gordon Brown, Gilbert’s son and local ranching legend, transitioned to raising and breeding beautiful herds of Limousine and Angus. For decades, Gordon bred some of the most sought after livestock in Northern California.

Tradition

In 2019, fourth generation ranchers Andrea and her husband Brian decided to bring Gilbert Brown’s vision back to life: producing beautiful beef, only on a much smaller scale.   They started a small registered Angus herd; breeding and raising beef on their Napa pasture. Selling by the whole or 1/2 animal.
